3 fruit's that are good for your eyes

Nature's Candy - blueberries, strawberries and raspberries

Blueberries, strawberries, raspberries are some of Nature's most potent and delicious foods. These anti-oxidant rich fruits have been showed to have powerful health benefits. High in Vitamin-A, Vitamin-C and Vitamin-E, these berries help boost your immune system and fight against common colds during the winter months.

A diet rich in berries also ensures adequate soluble fibre in your diet, which helps to reduce cholesterol levels and improve overall heart health.

Blueberries have been shown to reduce vision problems by slowing down the progression of conditions such as macular degeneration and cataracts because of their high anti-oxidant levels.

Although vitamin supplements are great and can help to top up your daily requirements, we always recommend that our patients try to eat whole natural foods whenever possible.

You can eat more berries by adding them to:

  • Salads
  • Yogurt
  • Muffins
  • Desserts & Ice Cream
  • Smoothies

So next time you're at the grocery store, do your eyes a favour and pick up some fresh berries. Or better yet, consider adding these plants to your garden this summer and enjoy the fruits of your labour all next winter.
