HOW TO PREPARE FOR YOUR APPOINTMENT

Please read over the following items, to ensure that your visit goes smoothly. If you have any questions or concerns, please call our office @ 780.628.6886. Our goal is to make your visit as safe and comfortable as it can be. it might feel less personable than normal because you can’t see our smiles behind our masks, but it’s all because we want everyone to stay safe.

Arriving for Your Appointment at Kingsway Mall

  • You can park or enter via Entrance #4 located on the East side of Kingsway Mall.

  • All mall entrances will be open between 11-7 starting May 14, 2020.

  • Please arrive on-time, but not early.

  • You are required to wear a face mask and should perform proper hand sanitization before accessing the mall, please be prepared.

What Should you Bring to Your Appointment?

  • Insurance Card and Alberta Health Care Card

  • Photo-ID to check your identity

  • Your contact lens boxes or picture if you are new to our clinic

  • Your current eyeglasses that you use on a daily basis.

Patient Practices in Our Clinic

  • We kindly ask that all patients wear a mask or face covering while in our clinic. Check out our blog post on how to wear a surgical or procedure mask correctly.

  • Hand sanitizer is available throughout our clinic.

    • Feel free to use it as often as you like.

    • You will be required to use it upon entering our business, even if you just cleaned your hands before coming in.

  • We ask that you don’t wear your contact lenses to your appointment, but instead wear your eyeglasses. Even if they are 5-years old and falling apart. It’s one less thing to remove, and hand sanitizer and contact lenses don’t mix.

  • Our waiting area has very limited seating at this time. Please do not bring anyone that is not necessary to your appointment.

    • We kindly ask that there is a 1:1 ratio of adults to children. Family groups will not be allowed in the exam rooms together.

    • If a child is having an eye exam, we kindly ask that only one parent accompany them into the exam room.

  • We encourage you to leave all large purses, bags and coats in your car.

  • Please respect the 2-meter social distancing guidelines. If someone is at the front desk, we ask that you wait outside until they leave to move out of your way.

  • If you have any COVID19-like symptoms, please call in advance and rebook your appointment for 14-days later or when you are feeling better, whichever is longer (COVID-19 self-assessment).

  • We know that choosing glasses is a very social activity but Pearle Vision asks that patients come for their appointment unaccompanied by friends or family.

    • If the patient is a minor, we will encourage only one guardian per minor.

    • A separate appointment may be required to look at eyewear to limit the number of people in the optical at one time.

Staff and Doctor Practices

  • Our staff will do a daily COVID-19 self-assessment prior to assisting patients.

  • We will wash or sanitize our hands before and after each patient interaction.

  • We will be wearing face masks or working behind protective barriers.

  • We will monitor all visitors for COVID-like symptoms and ask people to leave if required.

  • We will continue to arrange home delivery of products.

Office and Equipment

  • All equipment used in the exam rooms and testing areas will be sanitized after each use.

  • All high-touch surfaces are disinfected regularly or after every use.

  • Waiting room chairs are disinfected between people and are separated by plexiglass barriers.

  • Waiting room amenities have been removed and we have implemented a paper-free environment.

  • Waiting rooms, pre-test rooms, and exams rooms have air purifiers to try and further clean the air of dust and debris. Kingsway Mall has also increased fresh air HVAC flow throughout.
