Dr. Armann Sandhu, OD - Optometrist
Dr. Armann Sandhu, OD, is an Edmonton-born and raised optometrist who is excited to be back home and caring for the community he has always called home.
Dr. Sandhu completed his Bachelor of Science at the University of Alberta, majoring in Biological Sciences with a minor in Psychological Sciences, before moving to Boston, Massachusetts, to attend the New England College of Optometry, where he earned his Doctor of Optometry degree. During his optometric training, Dr. Sandhu had the privilege of completing clinical rotations throughout Massachusetts. His experiences included primary care at NECO’s Center for Eye Care, community health at South Boston Community Health Center, specialty contact lenses at NECO’s Center for Eye Care, and ocular disease and ophthalmology co-management at the Lowell VA. These rotations gave him experience managing a wide range of eye conditions, including cataracts and age-related macular degeneration, while also developing his skills in specialty contact lens fitting.
Dr. Sandhu has a particular interest in fitting custom contact lenses, including scleral lenses and orthokeratology (Ortho-K), as well as myopia management and dry eye disease. He is excited to bring these interests and skills to Stonewire Optometry while continuing to learn and grow alongside his patients.
Above all, Dr. Sandhu believes that good eye care starts with listening. He wants every patient to feel comfortable discussing their concerns, asking questions, and explaining what they need from their vision. His goal is for every person who walks through the door to leave feeling heard, understood, and confident that their concerns have been addressed. To him, building a strong relationship between patient and practitioner is an essential part of providing personalized, successful eye care. Outside of the clinic, Dr. Sandhu enjoys exploring cities and trying new food with his fiancée, a passion he developed during his four years in Boston, and is an avid history enthusiast. He also enjoys baking sweet treats, attempting to balance his sweet tooth with trips to the gym, and going for walks with his 11-year-old husky, Dusk. Most importantly, he loves spending time with his family.
